چکیده

A new fiber-optic extrinsic Fabry Perot microintetferometer cantilever beam type vibration sensor (EFPIV) is described, For eliminating signal fading effects a two-wavelength demodulation scheme is implemented, The theoretical model of this sensor with pronounced eigenfrequency spectrum in the acoustic range is confirmed by experimental results. Initial field tests in an experimental airport ground traffic surveillance system for vehicle detection via monitoring of structural vibrations demonstrate the application as traffic sensor,

Closed-Loop Compensation of the Quadrature Error in MEMS Vibratory Gyroscopes

In this paper, a simple but effective method for compensation of the quadrature error in MEMS vibratory gyroscope is provided. The proposed method does not require any change in the sensor structure, or additional circuit in the feedback path. The mathematical relations of the proposed feedback readout system were analyzed and the proposed solution assures good rejection capabilities. Based on ...

Detection of Excited Vibration Signals on the Latticed Fence Structure Using a Distributed Fiber Optic Sensor with Sagnac Interferometer

To detect external vibration signals on the latticed fence structure, distributed fiber optic sensor using Sagnac interferometer was fabricated and tested. Because of easy construction Sagnac interferometer was selected rather than MachZehnder type. The latticed structure fabricated with dimension of 180cm in width and 180cm in height, the optical fiber, 50m in length, distributed and fixed on ...

A distributed fiber vibration sensor utilizing dispersion induced walk-off effect in a unidirectional Mach-Zehnder interferometer.

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel ultra-long range and sensitive distributed fiber vibration sensor. Only one unidirectional Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is employed in this scheme as the sensing element. In this sensor structure, we utilize chromatic dispersion-induced walk-off effect between the vibration signals sensed by two distributed feedback (DFB) lasers at differen...

Interferometric Sensor of Wavelength Detuning Using a Liquid Crystalline Polymer Waveplate

Operation of a polarization interferometer for measurement of the wavelength changes of a tunable semiconductor laser was investigated. A λ/8 waveplate made from liquid crystalline polymer is placed in one of interferometers' arms in order to generate two output signals in quadrature. Wavelength was measured with resolution of 2 pm in the wavelength range 628-635 nm. Drift of the interferometer...

Sensitivity enhancement of grating interferometer based two-dimensional sensor arrays using two-wavelength readout.

Diffraction gratings integrated with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors offer displacement measurements with subnanometer sensitivity. However, the sensitivity of the interferometric readout may drop significantly based on the gap between the grating and the reference surface. A two-wavelength (2-λ) readout method was previously tested using a single MEMS sensor for illustrating incr...
